Applications and System Design

Application:
Remote fixed analog camera with network connection to be viewed on a PC.

Example: Apartment residents need to view the main entrance camera via the network.

Solution:
Standard CCTV camera is connected to the encoder using standard coax cable. The encoder digitally compresses the signal for IP transmission across the Ethernet network.

At the PC, the user can view the video image using a standard web browser program (such as Windows Internet Explorer or Netscape).

Notes:

1. While this will also work for viewing a PTZ camera additional wiring is necessary in order to PTZ control the camera (see Single PTZ to Browser).
2. The browser allows you to view one camera at a time. To view multiple cameras use a video management system (see Single Camera to Workstation and Monitor and Bosch Video over IP/DiBos Recording).
