Direct-to-iSCSI recording
IP camera’s need to be recorded for long term archiving, eg 30 days. Recording solution is cost critical and by so needs to have a low TCO.
Solution:
Group of IP camera’s or encoders is directly recording data to the iSCSI disk arrays. Thereby overcoming the need for PC servers in the recording chain and by so creating an easier to maintain system with a lower TCO.
Notes:
When one iSCSI diskarray fails, a recording group of camera’s could stop recording. In this scenario a VRM based system is advised. (see: “VRM iSCSI recording”).
