Fire detection for the food and beverage industry
Bosch offers a wide portfolio of fire safety solutions to ensure food and drink production is monitored for signs of fire at every stage, from preparation and processing to storage and delivery.

There is a wide range of fire safety challenges on plants for food and drink processing, and storage depots and warehouses for all raw materials, ingredients and purchase-ready goods. Combinations of hazards from excessive heat to freezing temperatures and from explosive substances to flying dust particles must all be addressed to keep a company’s premises and all employees safe. In addition, frequent false alarms which interrupt business continuity must be avoided. Scalable and compatible fire safety systems from Bosch ensure broad coverage, from floor to ceiling and from building to building, with fast and highly reliable fire detection solutions to meet every challenge.
Modular system for easy premises extensions
Although premises expansions are usually a positive step for business, they create their own challenges for fire safety. Successive extensions to different buildings can result in incompatibilities between fire monitoring solutions over time: Varying system versions or other product inconsistencies risk an uncoordinated, slower response to a fire due to gaps in coverage, or inadequate system maintenance.
The Bosch range of fire detection and fire alarm solutions were developed as a modular system with forward and backward compatibility. All Bosch fire safety devices installed in original, newer or upgraded parts of a premises can therefore provide fire detection coverage to the same high standard. The fire alarm system is also scalable – a high-capacity network can be extended to up to 32 panels on a single network level.

Remote fire safety system monitoring

System integrators work for a wide range of customers requiring equipment upgrades and installations. Safety managers are usually responsible for ensuring fire monitoring coverage and system maintenance on multiple premises. In the past, both of these roles would have involved hours of business travel to and from each premises. Thanks to our remote services, much of this valuable time can now be spared. Smart IoT connectivity allows them to monitor the status of fire detectors and fire alarm panels remotely over their handheld devices, including troubleshooting, configuration and addressing maintenance requirements. This reduces the need for these workers to physically visit premises for system health checks which they can now simply perform over a user-friendly interface.
