OMNEO is an architectural approach to connecting devices that need to exchange information such as audio content or device control in application domains such as public address, intercom, conferencing, and pro audio/video. OMNEO offers a professional-grade media networking solution that provides interoperability, unique features for easier installation, better performance, and greater scalability than any other IP offering on the market.
Architecture
Bosch Building Technologies has introduced a public standards based media networking architecture to promote device interconnectivity.
This architecture – called OMNEO – has two main components: (1) a media program transport protocol suite that offers low latency, high-quality multichannel media stream exchange; and (2) a robust control protocol suite that provides reliable and secure system control and monitoring for pro media networks of all sizes, from small to intercontinental.
OMNEO is fully compatible with Audinate's Dante networking technology to provide standards-based, routable IP media transport. In addition, OMNEO has been designed to support emerging and future standards as they come to the market.
OMNEO's system control component is AES70 also referred to as OCA, for Open Control Architecture, it includes many features for flexibility, reliability, security, and compatible growth over the years.
