To enable efficient meetings, the chairperson should be in full control of the proceedings. Discussion modes with speech time, hiding/showing request and respond status based on the participants rights was already possible with DICENTIS. This 3.40 release now also displays the speech time for the speaker and the responder in the speakers list on the DICENTIS Discussion device with touchscreen. Additionally, a countdown circle is displayed for the active speaker which turns red during the last minute of their time. By displaying speech time, speakers know exactly how much time there is and can adjust their speech if necessary.

Simultaneous interpretation is a very challenging task. To provide the best service possible, interpreters usually work in teams for international conventions or parliamentary assemblies.
To manage the intense stress and make their interpretation job more convenient, the active interpreter can toggle between real time and elapsed speech time via the button with the stopwatch icon.

Monitoring and controlling the participant and interpreter microphones during the meeting is easy with the synoptic room overview. This update makes it possible for the operator to create multiple layouts and floor setups for different users. Each layout can have a different orientation, background, icon layout or icon size depending on the location and tasks of a specific user. Completely different floor setups can also be uploaded, in case the room layout evolves over time. For ease of use, the last used layout is remembered and chosen by default for the next logon.
The synoptic layout now also shows which interpreter booths and desks are active and also indicates the source language, the output language and the output channel. The operator can now also adjust interpreter mistakes remotely without disturbing the meeting.

OMNEO and Dante streams are an important part of the DICENTIS system that makes interfacing with 3rd party audio equipment easier. On the DICENTIS device headphones, audio streams are optimized for participants listening to interpretations. The 3.40 software release enables the creation of an additional audio stream per language making it possible to create an audio stream for external use. This additional audio stream contains unprocessed audio and has the flexibility to be perfectly interfaced with 3rd party audio equipment. The headroom can be configured between 3dB and 30dB and the language channel is filled with floor audio by default when the interpretation is not active. This setting can be turned off if the channel must remain silent.
Like all other audio streams, the unprocessed audio can be converted from OMNEO to Dante™. The configuration settings can either be done on the system or meeting level.
