First and foremost, Video Analytics is easy to configure. You can set up the camera’s Video Analytics settings using the Configuration Manager software. The intuitive graphical interface guides you effortlessly through the configuration, using visual examples that can easily be manipulated so you can tailor the system to your exact needs.

The correct camera calibration is essential for accurate object detection. It gives you the power to understand the scene in 3D with real sizes, object classification and speed, optimized long distance detection and people counting. Doing the calibration is easy. Simply enter the height of the camera and calibration will be automatic based on information from the camera’s positioning sensors. Our cameras with a built-in lens can incorporate the focal length of the lens into the calibration, even when it’s a varifocal length lens.

Configuring common Video Analytics scenarios is also quick and easy thanks to pre-configured, default settings for different intrusion, people counting and transportation situations. All you have to do is calibrate the camera, select and apply the default scenarios and adjust the fields or lines to the camera’s field of view.

Default scenarios:

• Intrusion: long or short distance detection
• Retail: people counting
• Transportation: traffic incident detection
• Transportation: Wrong way detection

For more complex demands, you can customize alarm tasks or create new ones using the task script editor tool. This enables you to fine-tune or combine pre-defined detection rules. Simply copy and paste the text from the task script editor to multiply or share tasks with other installations or save them as a backup.
